Lorie:
The prime mover behind removal of the delusional parasitosis page was the CDC web team and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regulations which guide our web use. Our web team noted, during a recent review of CDC's A-Z list, that this page lacked CDC content, offering only a link to outside information. This is not in accordance with HHS rules. Additionally, it turns out delusional parasitosis is not an area that our Division of Parasitic Diseases conducts work on, so this division should not have had the page posted on their site. I am more familiar with CDC's work with infectious diseases but I did a quick scan and did not see a CDC division or program that addressed delusional parasitosis.

Comments=Good Day. On Mar 29, 2007, "The Delusional Parasitosis page has been removed from the Division of Parasitic Diseases site." was posted to http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dpd/parasites/delusionalparasitosis/. Is there a link in the CDC site that explains the removal and where information on the condition can now be found? I see no referring link. What was the reason for this removal, and does this mean Delusional Parasitosis is no longer a designation of a condition in the eyes of the CDC?
Thank you,
Lorie Kramer
